Labor Day Recipe Ideas That Are Under 30 Minutes & Also Healthy

Labor Day weekend is finally here and now it's time to decide what meals to prepare if you're having a barbecue or just having friends and family over for lunch and dinner. Whatever the case may be you'll be off from work (3-day weekend) - which means you can sleep in, wake up late or stay up all night whatever you decide. But you'll be eating BBQ all weekend and maybe even lounging by the pool or at a beach. So before you start inviting people over I wanted to share with you some Labor Day recipe ideas that can be prepared in under 30 minutes and that are also healthy. Sticky Grilled Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. low-sodium soy sauce

  • 1/2 c. balsamic vinegar

  • 3 tbsp. honey

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 2 scallions, chopped

  • 1 lb. chicken drumsticks

  • 2 tbsp. Sesame seeds, for garnish

Honeydew and Arugula Salad

Ingredients

  • Cut 1/2 honeydew melon into small, thin pieces

  • Puree 1/2 cup of the melon pieces with

  • 1/3 cup fresh herbs

  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise

  • 2 tablespoons lime juice

  • 10 ounces baby arugula

  • Salt and Pepper

Turkey Burgers With Orange Mustard Glaze- without the soda

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon coarse kosher salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic

  • 3 pounds ground turkey (white and dark meat)

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 1/2 cup diced yellow onion

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/4 cup diced jalapeno peppers, with seeds

  • 1 9 -ounce jar orange marmalade (with peel)

  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard

  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  • 1/8 teaspoon chili powder

  • 6 hamburger buns or kaiser rolls

  • Romaine lettuce, sliced tomato and sliced red onion, for topping

  • Kosher pickles, for serving

Herb-Stuffed Zucchini

Ingredients

  • Split 2 medium zucchini and scoop out the seeds

  • Salt for taste

  • Combine 1/3 cup panko breadcrumbs

  • 1 chopped tomato

  • 1/4 cup mixed chopped parsley and dill

  • 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts

  • 1 minced garlic clove

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • Pepper for taste

Nectarine-Tomato Salad

Ingredients

  • Cut 1 pound each yellow beefsteak tomatoes into wedges

  • Cut 1 pound each nectarines into wedges

  • 2 ounces shaved ricotta salata

  • Salt and Pepper

  • Toast 2 tablespoons pine nuts

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • White balsamic vinegar

Foil-Packet Corn

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets of foil

  • Top each with 3 husked ears of corn

  • Thyme

  • Basil

  • Rosemary

  • Salt and pepper for taste

  • 2 tablespoons cut-up butter
