Cheat Day Recipe Ideas

There are certain days when you just cheat and eat something that you know you shouldn't be eating. For me cheat days are when its that time of the month. During menstruation I find that I end up cheating and eating foods I wouldn't normally eat. Afterwords I always end up feeling guilty. But I am getting better at not having cheat days and just eating healthy as much and often as I can. It's a challenge but its possible to do once you get into it. I know sometimes its difficult to watch everything you eat, but you have to or at least try. So if you're like me and have cheat days I wanted to share with you some cheat day recipe ideas that are healthy and will not make you feel guilty. Ingredients
3/4 cup quinoa, rinsed
Salt and pepper
1 tablespoon EVOO
1 red onion, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 can (15.5 oz.) pinto beans, rinsed
1 cup tomato salsa
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (6 oz.)
4 large flour tortillas
Ingredients
4 whole wheat pita bread rounds
6-8 tablespoons Tessemae’s Slow Roasted Garlic Spread
1 medium zucchini squash, cut into 1/4-inch slices
1 small yellow summer squash, cut into 1/4-inch slices
2 tablespoons Tessemae’s Green Goddess Dressing*
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
3 roma or 2 larger beefsteak tomatoes, sliced 1/4-inch thick, patted dry if very juicy
3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Chopped fresh parsley or basil, for serving
Ingredients
1lb whole wheat spaghetti
4 medium cloves garlic, minced or pressed
1 Tbsp water
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 tsp red pepper flakes
4 tsp anchovy paste or 8-10 minced anchovy fillets
28oz can diced tomatoes, drained with 1/2 cup juice reserved
3 Tbsp capers
1/2 cup kalamata olives, pitted and coarsely chopped
1/4 cup minced fresh parsley leaves
