Thanksgiving Dinner Recipe Ideas

Thanksgiving is next week Thursday. You're probably deciding who will be hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year. Whose house to go to. Then once that's settled you'll begin making travel arrangements and if dinner is not at your house you'll be thinking about what dish to bring with you when going to Thanksgiving dinner. So I wanted to give you an idea of some easy and quick Thanksgiving recipe ideas to try out and take with you to Thanksgiving dinner if you're pressed for time. Garlic and Herb Roasted Turkey

Ingredients

  • 1 12-14 lb. turkey, thawed (if frozen)

  • 2 heads garlic, halved horizontally through the equator

  • 1 lemon, halved

  • 4 small onions, quartered

  • 14 sprigs fresh thyme

  • 2 tbsp. olive oil

  • kosher salt

  • 2 large carrots, cut into 2-in. pieces

  • 2 stalks celery, cut into 2-in. pieces

  • 3/4 c. low-sodium chicken broth

  • Fresh herbs, for serving

Cauliflower Stuffing

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp. butter

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 2 large carrots, peeled and chopped

  • 2 celery stalks, chopped or thinly sliced

  • 1 small head cauliflower, chopped

  • 1 c. chopped mushrooms

  • kosher salt

  • Freshly ground black pepper

  • 1/4 c. Freshly Chopped Parsley

  • 2 tbsp. chopped fresh rosemary

  • 1 tbsp. chopped fresh sage or 1 tsp. ground sage

  • 1/2 c. vegetable or chicken broth

Creamed Kale

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds kale, center stalks removed

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • Salt and freshly ground pepper

Chipotle Buttermilk Cornbread

Ingredients

  • 2 c. cornmeal

  • 2 tsp. baking powder

  • 1 tsp. baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp. salt

  • 1 1/2 c. buttermilk

  • 1 large egg

  • 4 tbsp. melted butter

  • 2 chipotles in adobo, chopped

  • 1 1/2 c. corn

  • 8 oz. cubed Velveeta

Green Bean Casserole with Fried Shallots

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. fresh green beans

  • 1 package sliced mushrooms

  • ½ sweet onion

  • ¼ c. butter

  • 3 tbsp. all-purpose flour

  • 3 clove garlic

  • ½ c. dry white wine

  • 1½ c. half-and-half

  • ⅓ c. Grated Parmesan cheese

  • 3 tbsp. Grated Parmesan cheese

  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

  • ½ tsp. Kosher salt

  • ½ tsp. freshly ground pepper

  • 3 tbsp. panko breadcrumbs

Fried Shallots

  • 4 large shallots

  • ⅓ c. all-purpose flour
